Healing guide

Tattoo aftercare.

Simple, consistent care protects your healing skin and the finished tattoo.

Day 1

After 2–3 hours, remove the wrap. With clean hands, wash gently with lukewarm water and neutral soap or tattoo foam. Pat dry with fresh paper towel—do not rub.

Day 2

Wash morning and night. If it looks dry, use a very thin layer of aftercare balm. Overuse can trap bacteria.

Days 3–14

Continue the cleaning routine until fully healed. Around fourteen days is common, but everybody heals differently.

Day 15+

Once healed, moisturise lightly and protect it from the sun to preserve the tattoo’s contrast and detail.

Do not
  • Soak it in baths, pools, spas or the ocean until healed.
  • Use sunscreen, makeup, fake tan or perfume while healing.
  • Use harsh soap, alcohol products or fragranced lotion.
  • Pick or scratch flaking skin.
  • Wear tight clothing that rubs the area.
Helpful tips
  • Use clean hands only—no loofahs or cloths.
  • Use a fresh towel for every shower.
  • Sleep on sheets you do not mind staining initially.
  • Treat it like a small open wound.
  • Text Nikki if anything concerns you.
